Koalas Port Macquarie is home to a large native koala population. Visit the Koala Hospital where you can view injured or sick koalas in the natural habitat or be photographed with a baby koala at the Billabong Koala Breeding Centre. Wine There are 5 wineries in the area providing wine tasting and cellar door sales. Cassegrain Winery, 10kms west of the Quality Inn Historic Well, on the Pacific Highway also features the Ca Marche restaurant. Rainforest Sea Acres, with boardwalk above the forest floor, is an experience not to be missed. Regular guided tours are conducted. 3kms from the Quality Inn Historic Well. Beaches Town Beach, with life guards on duty regularly, is opposite the Quality Inn Historic Well, (see our Web Cam and check out how the surf was today). Six other surfing beaches are nearby.
